“The birth of the new Haringey Greyhounds follows pretty hard on the heels of the demise of last season’s Haringey Racers, as within a matter of days of last season’s EPL team being withdrawn from the league, a group of diehards, driven by sweet memories of ED1 title wins and play-off semi-finals from a few years ago, had formed a committee aimed at bringing senior hockey back to Alexandra Palace.

A few of the team will be instantly recognizable to Haringey fans of old, with the likes of Brian Clarke, Jamie Hurst, Gary Organ, Dave Richards, Andy Sillitoe and Ricky Rutherford signing up. We have also signed some import strength with talented Polish forwards Andrzej Maslak and Wojciech Milan, as well as former Chelmsford defenceman Craig Metcalf.
(see roster for full team details)

The committee would like to express their thanks to everyone who has helped in resurrecting (for the third time) one of the most famous names in British ice hockey, especially our sponsors, but in particular to Jan Bestic, who has sweated buckets to get this team off the ground.”
